With the Black Friday phones deals in full swing, should you wait for the Galaxy S25?

May you wait for the Galaxy S25 now that Black Friday phone bargains are in full swing?
We’ve come to a point in the year where someone who wants a new high-end Android phone must decide whether to purchase a Star cellphone from the current technology or wait for the next century, much like we saw in the lead up to the iphone 16 release.
Precisely, the issue this year is whether to get one of the Samsung Galaxy S24 phones, or wait for the Galaxy S25 sequence, which we expect to start in January or february next month.
But, the Samsung Galaxy problem arises at a time when the Black friday deals have already been made ( Black Friday in itself is on November 29th this year), which significantly muddies the waters. Because there are Black Friday cellphone deals that feature discounted Galaxy S24 models, it might be tempting to jump on them right away rather than procrastinate for more expensive smartphone from the next generation.
Therefore, what to do?
I don’t had a simple solution per si, but my general opinion is that purchasing a cheap Cosmos S24 is a wise decision if you’re in hungry need of a fresh Android smartphone. I’ve used my iphone 16 Pro Max as a supplementary telephone with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I can testify for it without a doubt. I also think the conventional Galaxy S24 is excellent, with its slick design and a suite of conceptual Ai features.

In Australia in the run-up to Black Friday, Samsung’s flagship smartphone saw a sizable price drop. For a limited time, you can score a huge 24 % off the 256gb model Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in Titanium Grey. All colourways of the 256gb model are discounted, but not the 512gb and 1tb models.

To buy or not to buy?
The issue is that the Galaxy S25 series undoubtedly represents a significant improvement over the S24. It will very likely be evolution over revolution, but some camera tweaks, perhaps a bigger battery, and more power for onboard Ai tools, can add up to a significant upgrade.
Additionally, the Galaxy S24 series was the first phone to introduce Galaxy Ai, which had some teething issues, including how to access and manage the smart features. As a result, I believe the Galaxy S25 series will have more expertly integrated Ai features that could be better integrated into the hardware.
My hope is that Samsung’s overall Galaxy Ai suite feels more intuitive and easily accessible, with clear notes on what the Ai tech is doing and what it isn’t, in the Galaxy S25 than it does in the current-generation Galaxy devices.
To me, this would be a good reason to consider an upgrade, especially as we’ve seen how the Google Pixel 9 series – what’s arguably a second-generation ‘ Ai phone’– offers a decent upgrade on the Pixel 8 series.
In the unlikely event that Samsung decides to discontinue the Galaxy S24, we’d very likely see retailers try to clear stock by offering units at reduced prices. If you’re not impressed by the upgrades the Galaxy S25 is sure to offer, you can probably still go for the Galaxy S24.
